Echo Heart Centre's combination of skills and leading-edge technologies offers a wide range of cardiac diagnostic services including, electrocardiography (ECG), echocardiography (echo), exercise stress testing, stress echocardiography and 24-hour Holter monitoring.
- An electrocardiogram (ECG) which measures the electrical activity of the heart
- A stress test where physical activity increases the heart's need for blood so the doctor can assess how the heart responds to increased stress.
- A transthoracic echocardiogram (Echo) that uses sound waves to create an image of your heart as it beats.
- A transoesophgeal echocardiogram (TOE) test provides a close look at the heart valves and chambers, without interference from the ribs or lungs. TOE is often used when the results from a transthoracic echocardiogram are not sufficient, or when your doctor wants a closer look at your heart.
- 24 Hour Holter Monitoring records every heart beat over a 24 hour period. This is used to investigate for abnormal heart rhythms.
- Stress Echocardiography combines a transthoracic echocardiogram with an exercise stress test to make an assessment of your heart at rest, as well as during and immediately following stress. This can provide your doctor with information regarding whether or not you have significant blockages in your heart arteries.
- Echo Heart Centre's highly training Cardiologists work with GPs and other Specialists in a Consulting role to ensure accurate patient diagnosis and ongoing management.
